Choose a USB-C hub that fits your laptop

Count your devices, check your computer's port capabilities, and read the details behind display and charging claims.

Make a port list

List what you connect at the same time: a monitor, keyboard, storage drive, memory card, or wired network. Note each connector and any performance requirement. Look for a hub with those connections and comfortable room for cables.

Check the host computer

USB-C describes a connector, but the shape does not guarantee every display, data, or charging feature. Read your laptop's specifications for the exact port you plan to use. Then compare the hub's stated requirements. A display adapter needs the relevant video support from the computer, cable, and connected display.

Read the display and power details

For monitors, check supported resolution, refresh rate, operating system, and behavior when multiple displays are connected. For charging, distinguish the hub's power input from the power it can deliver to the laptop. Check whether a charger is included and whether your existing charger and cable meet the stated requirements.

Think about the physical setup

Check the attached cable length, port spacing, and how the hub will sit beside your laptop. Large plugs can crowd adjacent connections. Decide whether you need a compact travel hub or a desk unit that stays connected. Keep the packaging until you have checked your actual devices together.
