Decide what you are trying to change
A portable SSD and a router solve different problems. The Samsung T7 Shield carries files; the TP-Link Archer AX55 connects devices to a network. Write down your actual task before comparing listings: moving projects, keeping another copy of files, adding wired connections or changing a Wi-Fi setup. Compare prices between products serving that same task.
Read the port specification, not just its shape
The T7 Shield uses USB 3.2 Gen 2. Check the computer's port specification and the cable you will use; a USB-C socket alone does not establish transfer performance. For the Archer AX55, check WAN and LAN connections against your existing equipment and provider requirements. Advertised wireless link rates are not a promise of internet speed.
Keep capacity and hardware versions consistent
The T7 Shield profile covers the 1 TB version. A larger capacity is a different comparison. Check the router's regional model and hardware revision when consulting its support pages. Include any cable or adapter you actually need in your shopping list, and keep a separate copy of important files rather than treating a drive's resistance rating as a backup.
