Wireless audio: fit, connections and playback time

Choose the listening format first, then check pairing features and battery conditions.

Choose personal or shared listening

Headphones and a portable speaker serve different situations. The Sony WH-1000XM6 covers the ears for personal listening; the JBL Charge 6 plays into the room. Think about how you will carry the product, where it will be used and whether you need to hear your surroundings. Check physical fit before treating a specification list as a complete decision.

Verify the connection feature you actually need

Sony lists multipoint connection for the WH-1000XM6. JBL uses Auracast for supported speaker connections. These are different features: connecting headphones to your devices is not the same as linking several speakers. Check the exact devices, supported codecs and speaker models. A shared Bluetooth label does not guarantee every pairing or multi-speaker function.

Compare battery figures under the same conditions

Check whether the quoted playback time includes noise cancellation or a separate battery-extension mode. Volume, content and settings affect use between charges. For the Charge 6, confirm the charging cable and power supply you need; its power-bank function is not a laptop charger. Read the accessory list for the exact offer instead of assuming it matches a promotional photograph.
